Hendrikx ITC and the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort

It will not have escaped anyone's attention that the Dutch Grand Prix took place the weekend of 4 and 5 September.

Did you know that Hendrikx ITC also contributed to this?

With an estimated number of 105,000 visitors, this means a lot for telecom providers such as KPN, Vodafone and T-Mobile in terms of load on the telephone network. That there was a peak in data traffic will therefore not surprise anyone.

A weekend like the Dutch Grand Prix is therefore an important one for Hendrikx-ITC. Although we are not visible to the visitors, behind the scenes we make a substantial contribution to the performance of the mobile data traffic.

So what is Hendrikx-ITC’s contribution to this race event?

When a large crowd claims a telephone mast and it is not designed for it, it will go into congestion (overloading the mast). The traffic will then be diverted to the nearest tower, which will also have to cope with a higher data load.

The risk is that a domino effect will then occur. To prevent this, Hendrikx-ITC developed applications that contribute to a stable data performance.

At Hendrikx-ITC we think in terms of possibilities and we are able to display real time monitoring of the network through our software tools.

This enables us to guarantee the availability of the network through incident management and performance management. Moreover, we process the data streams that occur between the existing and the additional masts. All this is visually displayed in a clear dashboard.

Hendrikx-ITC delivers customer value to for example KPN for stability at this international Formula 1 racing event.

During the Dutch Grand Prix weekend, several Hendrikx-ITC engineers were on standby to ensure that our clients could continue to monitor the quality of the mobile networks and immediately scale up where necessary.
